PEO's next sitting, Spring/Summer 2027, runs from April to July 2027, and its registration runs from January 4 to January 29, 2027. Most regulators offer two sittings a year; APEGA charges $500 plus GST per exam and APEGS $460 plus a 15% administration fee and GST.

PEO technical exam schedule by year

PEO sittingExams writtenRegistration
Fall/Winter 2026September to December 2026, from September 1 at the earliestJune 22 to July 17, 2026 (closed)
Spring/Summer 2027April to July 2027, from April 1 at the earliestJanuary 4 to January 29, 2027

Both sittings are written remotely by computer. PEO says the exact dates should be available one to two months before a sitting starts, and it points to EGBC's status page for online academic exams for notices. If an exam you need is not on a sitting's list, PEO asks you to email exams@peo.on.ca by that sitting's registration deadline so it can be offered at the next one.

Planning around the sittings

Count back from the sitting you want. Registration closes months before the exam, and most candidates need eight weeks or more of steady study per exam, so a candidate with four exams usually spreads them across two or more sittings.
